Chunky Weight

Yarns in this category can have less than 100 meters/yards per 100 grams if they are spun densely, but can have more meters/yards per gram if the yarn is lofty and light.

Items made with chunky yarns work up quickly and produce a thicker, warmer fabric, often  suitable for blankets, winter sweaters, outerwear and household items.

In the past, I have worked with:

Deer Tail - 100% superwash merino, a tightly spun chunky yarn with excellent bounce. Worked extremely well for plush toys and thick spongy blankets.

Polar Bear - 100% superwash merino, a light and lofty yarn perfect for winter wear.

Bear Cub - 100% royal alpaca, a yarn so soft and luxurious that it was named the Best Emotional Support Yarn of 2026! Bear Cub has a pearly sheen and is a joy to work with in any medium.
