These packs contain 250-280 grams of hand-dyed Briggs Country Roving, a 5-strand pencil roving yarn from Briggs & Little.
As a product of one of the only commercial mills in Canada, any Briggs yarn is 100% Canadian from the sheep to your needles. As a base, Briggs Country Roving comes in sixteen shades, including both natural sheep colours and mill-dyed tones. I used a cream base for these packs to give them a more earthy undertone.
Each ball of roving in this pack is 35-50 grams and will have 23-35 yards of yarn.
Because each ball is hand-wound after drying, these measurements are not precise.
All pencil roving yarns can be plied, and any number of strands can be used for spinning, felting, weaving, knitting or crochet, but these packs are designed mainly for felting and spinning.
